Hello and welcome. Glade to see someone from my side of the tracks. there are two must be events in the south region.
1. The Dragons Tail - August 5 - 8th @ Fontanna Village resort in Tennesee. 5th annual event. 318 curves in 11 miles of road. :D

2. Southeastern meet in the mountains - October 21- 24th @ Unicoi State Park. More to come.

And of course there is always infrequent rides / runs on pretty weekends during the year. The weather is begining to work with us and in a nother few weeks we will start seeing more activity in reguards to meets and rides. I would like to put something together soon, just a meet maybe lunch and a ride. Who's ready?:)

Hey Fast-Cat----Welcome to the group---I haven't been involved for long either, but I think the Fiero folks invite the Solstice/Sky folks on some of their get-togethers.

This is Ga-Solman's wife. I understand you live very near us. Hopefully we will get a chance to meet soon.

My husband was wrong on the dates for Unicoi. It is the weekend of September 23. You have have to register for the different events and make hotel reservations so if you plan on going don't miss out on the registration.

Take Care,

Yea just down the road in Acworth, right off Hwy 92. I sent a PM to David yesterday that it would be nice to get together for a drive, and maybe lunch soon. Thanks for the heads up on registering, I will be sure to do so.

i all! I'm also a newbie to the forums... it would appear I'm one of the only members from SE GA? Any other Savannahians or nearby?

I'm going to make an attempt to get to Helen in September... it's always a gorgeous drive. :) I'd love to do the Dragon too, but it's a reallyyyy long way from here :/

Hey Blueskiessav---welcome to the forum---as I told FastCat I am fairly new here also---I do know that once you are in Helen, the Dragons Tail is not that far away----I've done day-trips from Helen to the Dragon and back to Helen on several occasions---it is a full day's drive, but very do-able.
Again, welcome

Thanks for the welcomes! I think my father and I will likely attend one or the other (Helen or Dragon), but I'm not sure which yet.

Right now, I'm just happy to have finally fixed my air conditioning. I can sit at a stop light and not die of a heat stroke now! :) Who would have thought one fuse would be the culprit to an overheating engine and no AC.
